Meet Britney
Oh here there, I’m Britney
My international teaching experience in Canada, Taiwan, and Hong Kong encouraged me to develop a passion to support my students’ mental health needs. It was through these teaching assignments that I realized the importance of helping others acquire skills and techniques to develop resiliency and build self-esteem. This inspired me to peruse an M.A. in Mental Wellness Counseling. I now offer psychotherapy for clients within New York State and online Coaching services for my clients world-wide.
Boundaries Coaching…
“You have difficulty saying no to work obligations, friends and family, even when you want to. You’re unable to set boundaries due to feelings of guilt, shame and a desperate need for wanting to be needed by others. You feel exhausted and unable to speak up for yourself in fear of being labeled selfish or worse, losing the other person’s affection or interest in you.
You find yourself abandoning your needs when preforming for love by others.”
Together, we will explore and identify the underlying contributor(s) that cause you to feel unable to set boundaries in your personal and work life.
We will work on identifying your triggers and the boundaries you need to set in order to protect yourself and develop healthier relationships. You will begin develop your self-esteem by healing parts of yourself and your past that you are ashamed of. We will develop steps to help you start setting healthy boundaries in your relationships and build strategies that will help you regain a sense of self. In doing so you will begin to get connected with your authentic self and live a life more genuine to yourself and needs.
You’ve been busy caring for other people’s needs for far too long. If you’re ready to make the jump and start putting yourself first then email me today to learn how we can work together.
Therapeutic Services
I use an integrative approach to my work with you. This includes the use of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) based interventions and psychodynamic theory. CBT helps you foster an active role within your counseling journey. Psychodynamic theory helps you better understand your thoughts and emotions by acknowledging the role your past plays in your current life. I also incorporate inner child healing work into our work together.
I also lean on the following modalities when appropriate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness practices
